Xavier Goodridge Gippsland Chardonnay 2025
$50.00Sourced from newly grafted vines at the Avon Vineyard, along with selected barrels that didn’t make the final cut for the Avon Chardonnay, this wine captures the energy of the younger plantings. The new vines produced slightly larger, juicier bunches, bringing a touch more generosity to the profile.
The 2025 season provided ideal ripening conditions, resulting in fruit that arrived beautifully balanced, with a fine line of minerality drawn from the vineyard’s quartz-rich soils.
Fruit was hand-picked into 15kg baskets and hand-sorted directly into the press. Whole bunches were gently pressed, with juice briefly settled in tank before being transferred to barrel for fermentation.
The wine remained on full lees for 10 months, with barrels stirred once or twice prior to the completion of malolactic fermentation.
It matured in French oak (30% new), before being racked in January and bottled in February 2026.
Lively, precise rockmelon and white peach aromas follow through to a taut, pure palate supported with subtle coconut oak backnotes and a long, tongue-tingling finish.
